In reply to Mona Englart. I’m sorry to hear this. You could also do it in a slow cooker just cook the bacon separately or buy pre-cooked bacon. Mince the onion small in a food processor if you’ve got one so it will get tender.

Once again, you have an excellent recipe! I have made the same black bean soup recipe for years, but when I saw bacon, I thought it was worth a try. This is the new go to black bean soup.

This recipe is awesome. I sometimes add another can of beans to it to make it thicker.
